What to expect

Starting point at Platanakia near Armeni village. Τhere we give a short briefing to the participants on how to use the bike and how to handle it more effectively.

We pass by historical sights like the Mill of the Monks. Υou will have the opportunity to see the architecture of a 16th century Venetian mill and learn its history.

Tsivaras

We head towards Tsivaras and the gorge of Agios Antonios with the church built inside the mountain. Υου will have the opportunity to get inside the church and learn its history.

Douliana

We then head to Douliana.We will leave the bikes at the entrance of a hiking trail and walk through the forest path to reach the church of St. John which is hidden in the forest.We will leave the bikes at the entrance of a hiking trail and walk through the forest path to reach the church of St. John which is hidden in the forest. Here we will give you a retrospective on the history of the church as it is a historical monument of the Second World War.

Gavalochori

In Gavalochori we pass through the old houses and narrow backstreets and from there we carry on to the Venetian olive mill and wells of the region.

Armeni

We turn back, through the local dirt roads covered overhead by domes of tree branches and once more through Armeni for our traditional cretan lunch break.

After that follows the final section of the tour by the river Kiliaris, leading us to our starting point where we will have a cold beer and discuss your experience of the tour.
