Overview

For action and adventure seekers in Crete, a Via Ferrata route could not be missing. It is a “climbing trail” in the Asterousia Mountains that passes through remote gorges, traverses steep cliffs, offers an adrenaline rush and enchants you with the endless view of the South Sea and the mountainous landscape.

In Kapetaniana there is the one and only route of the iron road in Crete. In the wild and rocky landscape with the imposing gorges of Asterousia, on the slopes with the panoramic view to the Libyan Sea and among the flora and fauna of the region, this is one of the most impressive Via Ferrata routes in Greece.

What to expect

Via Ferrata (the Iron Road) is a secured route, usually in steep and rocky mountainous areas. With a continuous steel wire, iron ladders and bridges, bolts etc. we can ensure maximum safety and prevent falls.

We walk using special safety equipment such as Via Ferrata lanyards, climbing harness, helmets, etc., that help us stay constantly attached to the steel wire and achieve a maximum degree of safety so that everyone can enjoy the activity.

Via Ferrata is a unique experience that combines climbing and hiking, beautiful landscapes and intense adrenaline moments but always in safety.

For the Via Ferrata you do not need previous climbing experience and it is suitable for beginners. Small children (from 12 years old) and small groups can also participate. Good physical condition is required.

The Via Ferrata activity is not suitable for people who are afraid of heights, suffer from vertigo, etc.
