What to see at the Acropolis Museum

What to see at the Acropolis Museum

The Acropolis Museum’s four exhibition levels take you from finds from the Acropolis slopes to the history of the summit, the Parthenon sculptures and remains of an ancient Athenian neighborhood. The collection consists of objects found at the archaeological site of the Athenian Acropolis.

Make time for the Parthenon Gallery on the third floor. The museum opened in summer 2009, and its focus on finds from the Acropolis gives the galleries a clear connection to the site above.

If you’re planning a route through central Athens, the museum can fit into a day that starts around Monastiraki; a one-day walk from Monastiraki to central landmarks offers a related itinerary.
